In this beginner-friendly workshop, we'll explore simple winter-and holiday-inspired subjects that are perfect for creating your own handmade cards. You’ll learn approachable watercolour techniques while creating a selection of charming seasonal designs you can recreate for friends and family—or simply enjoy as little works of art.
No experience is necessary and everything is provided. Come play with paint, try something new, and leave with festive inspiration just in time for the holidays!
About your facilitator:
Crystal Parsons is an Ottawa-based “Creative Explorer” and experienced adult watercolour instructor whose creative practice spans watercolour, acrylic gouache, eco- illustration and textile-based art. She’s never met a craft she doesn’t like. She believes creativity should feel welcoming, joyful - and a little bit magical. Her favourite people are those who have always wanted to try watercolor but find the very idea slightly terrifying. Her workshops are a safe space to play, experiment, learn a few new skills and leave delighted with something of your very own. When not in her studio, Crystal can be found in her native plant garden, volunteering with the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library or rummaging about in Ottawa’s green spaces learning about trees and plants.
