Come spend a cozy and creative evening painting your own collection of Fall and Canadian-inspired watercolour postcards.
Together, we’ll create a series of seasonal postcards while learning some basic watercolor techniques so you feel comfortable making more of your own at home.
You’ll leave with your own custom collection of hand-painted postcards to keep, frame, trade, mail to someone you love, or contribute to the Sunday Letter Project — plus a Beam Paints travel card, so you can keep experimenting once you get home.
No previous drawing or painting experience is necessary. This beginner-friendly workshop is a chance to try watercolour in a welcoming and fun no-pressure environment. You don’t need to bring a thing — all materials are provided, so all you have to do is show up.
Come as you are and share an evening with the simple magic of watercolor - we can’t wait to welcome you!
About your facilitator:
Crystal Parsons is an Ottawa-based “Creative Explorer” and experienced adult watercolour instructor whose creative practice spans watercolour, acrylic gouache, eco- illustration and textile-based art. She’s never met a craft she doesn’t like. She believes creativity should feel welcoming, joyful - and a little bit magical. Her favourite people are those who have always wanted to try watercolor but find the very idea slightly terrifying. Her workshops are a safe space to play, experiment, learn a few new skills and leave delighted with something of your very own. When not in her studio, Crystal can be found in her native plant garden, volunteering with the Ottawa Wildflower Seed Library or rummaging about in Ottawa’s green spaces learning about trees and plants.
Space limited to 8 participants.
Price: $80
Note: The workshop room is on the second floor (steep stairs).
