Moss Art Workshop

Ever wanted to do something tactile and different than the typical art workshops offered? Let’s get a little messy and explore the magic of working with moss.

In this intro to moss art workshop, we will work with different types of (real!) moss, dyed in various colours. While all moss is technically dead, your unique piece will be easy to maintain and will last for years. Any and all skill sets can join, with the recommendation of ages 12 and up.

Please note: we will be using a wood panel as the backdrop (8.75 x 8.75") with a mix of dried moss and flowers.

Participants can expect a warm, welcoming, and easy-going environment. The workshop will be seated. Participants are recommended to wear something with short sleeves and hair tied up.

Come prepared to try something new!

Note: workshop room is on the second floor, stairs only. If this is a problem, please reach out we may be able to make an accomodation.

PRICE: $80

About your facilitator:

Kayla was born and raised in Ottawa, and was a funeral director in a past life. She is a twin, cat whisperer, and considers herself an open book. Kayla is an event planner, community builder, and was ½ of the “Feminist Twins”. She likes to dabble in lots of different art and crafts including (but not limited to) moss art, pottery, embroidery, photography, felting, mixed media, and digital drawing. Inspired by strange and wonderful things, Kayla is fueled by the sheer need to always be creating. This past year, she had her first ever solo show, curated two art shows, released two colouring books, and expanded her workshop offerings.
